Fetish

Almost all 'normal' males will have a fetish of some sort. It can take several forms:

  • 'Innocent', (by far the most common) such as a sexual fixation with hair, feet, or shoes, or 'dirty talk'
  • 'Grey', as in fascination with underclothes that have been worn and/or belong to somebody other than his partner, or perhaps a liking for group sex or 'three-in-a-bed'
  • 'Kinky', as in fascination with body function such as observing defaecation and urination, anal sex, mild sado-masochism or 'pretend' rape, or rubber.
  • 'Dark' - almost anything that most individuals would view as 'thoroughly disgusting'. This can be anything from scatology (smearing/eating faeces), vomiting, sadistic bondage, amputees, cutting, anal fisting, whipping and in extreme cases, killing.

The Answer
It is unlikely that a fetish will be totally alleviated by any form of therapy, though it is sometimes possible to gain a degree of control over the problem. This would need the help of a trained therapist though it is probable that many sessions would be needed. Having said that, some cases do give way surprisingly quickly, as long as the individual genuinely wants to be free from it; in these cases, a therapist can achieve a good result. The problem for most, though, is that there is a perception that the fetish is an important part of their sex life and they are unwilling to relinquish it - then, most therapies simply do not work.
